These grips are solid all the way around. Texture is great, really rough, but I can almost guarantee your firearm will not slip out of your hand for any reason. When shooting with these grips, the texture will become imprinted in your palm/fingers.

G10 grips are precision machined from the highest quality G10 material available to exacting specifications. G10 is a high-pressure thermoset plastic laminate consisting of multiple layers of woven fiberglass mesh cloth impregnated with an epoxy resin binder.
Will full size 1911 grips fit commander?
A Commander size 1911 requires full size grips. The barrel bushing is shorter than a full size Government model so you will need to purchase a Commander size compensator.

Which is stronger G10 or micarta?
Since G10 is made of glass fibers while micarta is constructed with linen, paper, and/or canvas, it tends to have higher strength and durability, even though both are among the best knife handle materials available. G10 can potentially suffer from heavy impacts but micarta is more susceptible to common dents and dings.
