What is Sete France known for?
Sète is a centre of water jousting, and hosts a major tournament during the town festival, the St-Louis. Paul Valéry’s poem Le cimetière marin, depicts the graveyard above Sète’s harbour Valéry is buried in the graveyard, and the nearby Paul Valéry Museum contains a collection of his drawings and manuscripts.
Is Sete worth visiting?
Sète is one of the places we always take visitors, excellent beaches, a working port with plenty of fishing boats bringing in the catch of the day. Take a trip out on a boat if the weather’s OK for it. Aigues Mortes is a lovely visit, take a walk round the ancient walls.

Is Sete France a good place to live?
Sète is also a large seaport filled with enormous fishing vessels, import export freight crafts, and cruise ships. Some say the view is worth living here, and many people live in Sete and work in Montpellier, Agde or one of the many communities just outside the beautiful sea port.
Why is it called Sete Cidades?
Although, hydrologically, the Lagoa das Sete Cidades is one lake, most refer to it as two separate bodies: Lagoa Verde and Lagoa Azul. Literally, the Green Lake and the Blue Lake (respectively), they are so named because each side of the lake reflects the sunlight in different colors.
Can you swim in Sete cidades?
Take a bath in Lagoa das Sete Cidades Do it carefully and only in the indicated zones. There are algae, rocks, mud and other things under the opaque surface that could make your life difficult. The swimming zone, delimited next to the grey buildings, is watched by a lifeguard in the summer.
Why is Lagoa Verde Green?
Lagoa Verde is comparatively shallow at around 19 metres deep and it reflects the colour of the algae on its bed and the greenery that surrounds it, giving it a rich green colour.
